Antalyakart: paying for buses and trams in Antalya

On Antalya's city buses and trams you usually pay with an Antalyakart, a contactless card you tap on the reader as you board. This guide is a general overview for first-timers. Fares and rules change from time to time, so we don't quote any figures here; check the current details where you buy the card or with official sources.

Where to get it and top it up

The card is sold at kiosks, small shops and top-up points at some stops, and you add credit at the same places. If your first ride is from the airport or the bus station, find out beforehand where you can buy one there.

When you board

  • Board through the front door and tap your card on the reader. The display shows your remaining balance.
  • The reader warns you when your balance runs low, and you can't ride without enough credit, so keep a little extra on the card.
  • You tap again when you change. Ask where you buy the card whether changes within a certain time are discounted.

For visitors

Even for a short stay, getting a card is usually the simplest option. Some lines may take contactless bank cards or other tickets, but this can differ between lines, so ask before you board. Also ask whether several people can pay with one card.

Students and reduced fares

There are personal reduced-fare cards for students, teachers and seniors. They're issued on application and can only be used by their holder. Check official sources for the conditions.

Where Varda fits in

Varda doesn't sell tickets or cards and doesn't show your balance; it's not an official app. What it does is show where your bus is and when it will really reach your stop, so you can have your card ready without waiting at the stop longer than you need to. Search for the code on the stop sign to find your stop quickly.

Times and durations are from the timetable; traffic can change them. The line and stop pages show the buses live.
