Perge ancient city by tram and bus from Antalya

The ancient city of Perge is in Aksu, east of Antalya. No line runs there directly from the centre: you take the T1B tram to Aksu, then carry on by an infrequent bus or on foot. Travel times and departures below come from the timetable.

To Aksu by tram: T1B

T1B runs from Fatih to Expo via the bus station, İsmetpaşa next to Kaleiçi, and Meydan. Get off at Aksu1. Careful: T1A uses the same stops through the centre, but after Yonca it turns off to the airport and never reaches Aksu, so make sure you board a T1B. Coming from the bus station, you can catch the same tram at Otogar1.

From Aksu to Perge: bus or on foot

From the tram, walk about 150 m to the İsmail Ogan Cd. 1 bus stop. Plenty of lines stop there, but only AC05 and AC05B, heading towards Alaylı and Güloluk, call at Perge Antik Kenti 1, which is the very next stop. Both run infrequently and you may have a long wait, so check the times below before you set off.

If no bus is due soon, walking is the realistic alternative: the Perge Antik Kenti stops are about 1.1 km north of the Aksu tram stop as the crow flies, and the walk itself will be a bit longer. Check the route on a map first. Even by bus, you may have a short walk from the stop to the site's entrance.

Back from Perge to Antalya

For the way back, wait at Perge Antik Kenti 2, close to Perge Antik Kenti 1. AC05B and AC05A run from there to Aksu; AC05 takes a different road back and doesn't stop here. Get off at the next stop, İsmail Ogan Cd. 6, about 70 m from the tram. Then take T1B towards Fatih from Aksu2 and get off at İsmetpaşa2 for Kaleiçi or Otogar2 for the bus station. If you're heading back in the evening, check the last bus and tram.

Worth knowing

  • Don't be misled by the Perge Blv. and Aspendos Blv. stops in the city: they're on city boulevards, nowhere near the ancient sites. For Perge, the stop you want is Perge Antik Kenti 1. There's no stop anywhere near Aspendos in the timetable, so none of these lines go there.
  • AC05B and AC05 run even less often at weekends. The cards show weekday times; the line pages have the other days.
  • The tram and these buses are city lines, so the usual city payment rules apply; see the Antalyakart guide for details.
  • Opening hours and entry to the ancient site aren't in our timetable data, so check them before you go.
  • Varda shows when the next bus will reach your stop from its live position, which helps you decide between waiting and walking. The app can follow your ride and tell you when your stop is coming up, handy on the long tram ride out to Aksu.

Times and durations are from the timetable; traffic can change them. The line and stop pages show the buses live.
